“Feed My Little Lambs”

When the Gospel is preached based in God’s Word we learn who God is and who were are meant to be. We moved from learning about Jesus to knowing Him. This all begins with one of Covenant’s first callings to “Feed My Little Lambs.” And so the vision of our ministry starts with the youngest of our kids through the oldest of our members with age appropriate educational classes and communities. No matter where you are in your spiritual maturity, there is a place for you. We are actively and intentionally making sure that all people have a chance to know Jesus by what we say, what we do, and how we live.

“The Table is set. The DNA is there. The anointing is there. And God says, “Who is going to line up? Who is going to say, “Yes, Lord.”

-Rev. Edward Williamson, founding pastor of Covenant EMC

Worship

There are several opportunities to “Learn” about the truth of God’s Word and experience Jesus’ presence in a worship setting. We have one service every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. We also have an in-depth Biblical study for all age groups every Wednesday night at 6 PM.

Covenant EMC and Covenant Christian school are dedicated to giving our kids a firm foundation in God’s Word. We are just as intentional with children’s ministry as we are with any other ministry within the church. We offer children’s church to 2nd grade and under and encourage our 3rd grade and up kids to take notes and follow along with the adult sermon. We also have a vibrant Wednesday night service. Special events include: junior camp, Vacation Bible School, and the Good News Egg Hunt.

We believe that in order to grow the church it must start by building the next generation. Our youth group offers a fun, interactive group meeting that is spiritually engaging and Biblically challenging. Covenant EMC has raised up several current pastors and full time ministers which can be traced back to an effective and powerful youth ministry. Youth group meets every Wednesday night and Sunday morning. They are active in small group events, outreaches, youth camps, and retreats.

Young Adults

We have a growing group of college students and young adults who are hungry for truth and Christian fellowship. We partner and support Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at WVU, but also offer our own young adult small group.

Wednesday Night Ministry

Every week we experience fellowship, prayer, and Bible study. We gather together for family supper from 5 to 6 PM. This is a great time of Christian fellowship and a wonderful opportunity to reach out to people who don’t know Jesus and allow them to experience the love of Christ. And then from 6 to 7:30 PM the adults, youth, and kids break out into their separate Bible studies.

Elderberries

All of those in our congregation 55 years and older we have our Elderberry group. The second Monday of every month this group gathers together for a Bible study at the church at 11 AM and then go out to eat lunch afterward. The Elderberries also take several trips a year and really enjoy learning from God’s Word and from each other.
